A Walk Around the Fields

We made it through Hurricane Irene. Not much damage to report for our area - just a lot of rain and a few strong wind gusts. Anyone tuned into the television would have thought that the end of the world was near with the amount of coverage that the storm got from the major networks though. Normal broadcasting was halted for over 24 hours while news reporters and meteorologists took over the airways to update viewers every few minutes on rainfall totals and storm trajectories. Needless to say by 10am on Sunday, the sun was out, the weather was dry and clear, and things returned to normal.

Yesterday evening we decided to take the dogs for a walk around the ball fields at the local public rec center. We all piled into Brian's car for a five-minute drive to get to the rec center - me, Brian, Babu, Tahoe, Ashley, and Mei-Mei. I was the lucky one who got to sit in the back of the car with Tahoe, Ashley, and Mei-Mei, each fighting for a window seat. It was a very long five-minute ride.

We had decided to walk around the ball fields because Henry was playing in a softball game on one of the fields. We watched two innings and saw Henry make a hit and catch. Go Henry!
